Individual Members

As a professional association for agricultural educators, NAAE provides benefits to assist members with professional growth - both tangible and intangible benefits to help members become more effective and efficient as agricultural educators. Some membership benefits include:

  • Professional Liability Insurance Coverage and other insurance options through the Trust for Insuring Educators (for active, active life, and student members)
    • $100,000 in-dues professional liability insurance coverage.  In-dues coverage does not include job protection benefits.
    • Low rates for professional liability insurance upgrades -- $35 for $1 million coverage; $50 for $2 million coverage.  Upgrades include valuable job protection benefits that provide legal support if you're subject to termination, reassignment, demotion or suspension.

  • News & Views - Our national newsletter keeps you updated on news and trends in agricultural education, resources, legislative advocacy, and NAAE activities and events.
  • U.S. Ag Ed Listserv -The National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) in cooperation with Purdue University has developed an electronic mail listserv for use by agricultural education teachers, state staff, teacher educators, and others interested in agricultural education. The listserv allows someone to send one message to the listserv and have that message forwarded on to all subscribers to the list. It has capabilities to send text mesAg sages and attached files.
  • National Teach Ag Campaign - There is currently a national shortage of agricultural educators, and NAAE has taken the lead in recruiting students to think about a career in agricultural education. Join the Teach Ag Campaign, find resources to help you talk to your students about a career in ag ed, or help your students find a college or university with an ag ed program.
  • National Teach Ag Day - part of the National Teach Ag Campaign, National Teach Ag Day is a day designated to celebrate the profession of agricultural education and to encourage your students to consider a career in ag ed.
  • National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) - Discounted membership rate for NAAE members. Go to the NSTA website to join NSTA for $65 per year ... a 13 percent discount over the regular annual membership rate.

Benefits of Organizational Membership

  • Two small advertisements in News and Views, NAAE's bi-monthly electronic newsletter Details
  • The opportunity to participate in the Organizational Members/Business Partners Reception at the NAAE convention. This reception is designed for you to interact with our state leaders who attend our annual meeting.
  • We will also "stuff" your printed information or other promotional piece in the convention registration packets so that all convention participants will be exposed to your services and products.
  • Recognition for your organization on the NAAE home page with a link to your website. Organizational members page
  • Access to the NAAE mailing list (at your request, we'll provide you a disk or email of the NAAE members' mailing labels for your direct mail needs).

State Affiliates

State affiliates of NAAE are typically made up of individual members who can take advantage of the benefits listed above, but in addition, NAAE offers a few services that can be best utilized at the state affiliate level.

  • Legislative advocacy for the profession -In addition to what NAAE does with federal legislation and advocacy, NAAE can provide some assistance in working through state-level legislative issues by consulting with the state association's advocacy committee, working to help place legislative alerts on the NAAE Legislative action center, and more. Contact Jay Jackman, NAAE Executive Director, for details.
  • State Affiliate Webpage Hosting -- To allow state agricultural education association members better access to timely state-level information,NAAE will host a webapage for each state agricultural education's association. The webpages will be included here, on the state affiliates section of NAAE's website. This program has been started as a way to help states who do not currently have a website. If your state association already has its own website, you do not have to start using the NAAE program. NAAE will still have a link from this page to your state association's webiste.
