| Dr.
Gary E. Moore, Professor of Agricultural and Extension
Educatio at North Carolina State University, is the new vice president
of th Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) Agricultural
Education Division. Dr. Moore succeeds Chuck Miller, agriculture
teacher at Lancaster Public Schools in Ohio, in this position. This
is an elected position voted on my the Agricultural Education Division
members of ACTE.
Dr. Moore has
earned three university degrees in agricultural education, B.S.
from Tarleton State University (part of the Texas A&M system,
and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from The Ohio State University. At NCSU,
Dr. Moore teaches courses in leadership development, experiential
learning, and effective teaching methods in agricultural education.
His research interests include the historical and philosophical
foundations of agriculture and extension education, and teaching
effectiveness.
Dr. Moore is
a life member and longtime supporter of ACTE. He has attended every
ACTE convention, except two, for the past 30 years. He has served
two terms at the ag ed division program chair and secretary of the
division for four years.
He understands
the challenging issues facing career and technical education, especially
agricultural education. He believes that all aspects of career and
technical education must work together in a unified manner. Dr.
Moore will continue to be a great leader for agricultural education
