NAAE:
Creating and Ensuring the Future of Agricultural Education |
Dear NAAE Members:
The NAAE board
of directors and staff are excited about the upcoming 1999 NAAE Convention in Orlando,
December 10-14, 1999. Lets all go to Florida in December! Our board conducted the
summer 1999 board meeting at the convention hotel -- Caribe Royale Resort Suites -- and we
were thrilled with its accommodations and amenities. We have a great location for a
wintertime meeting and a great convention center hotel for our sessions. I hope you will
choose to join us in Orlando.
If you have not attended a
NAAE convention in the past few years, and especially if you have never attended the
convention, I encourage you to make this the year to get connected or reconnected to our
national convention. For the past several years, our convention has taken on a fresh
"look" and "feel." The convention provides you great opportunities to
get involved with national leadership for your professional organization. But even more
importantly, the convention provides you opportunities to get updated on what's new in
agriculture and agricultural education. And, perhaps even more important still, the
convention provides you opportunities to interact with your colleagues from all over the
nation, to learn about the agricultural and educational priorities in parts of the country
with which you may not be familiar, and to enjoy fellowship with your colleagues in both
professional and social settings.
The NAAE
convention holds something for every NAAE member. Our convention is not just for the
leaders of the state agricultural teachers associations. We offer professional development
opportunities at the convention through speakers at sessions, workshops, business/industry
partnership exhibits, and more. We conduct NAAE business at the convention business
thats important for the survival and growth of our association and our profession.
And, we provide you opportunities for camaraderie with your colleagues across the United
States and the acquaintances you'll make may, indeed, develop into some of your
most important professional collegial relationships.
So, I invite and encourage
you to make your plans now to attend the 51st annual convention of your professional
organization the National Association of Agricultural Educators. If you have
questions about the convention, please feel free to contact me by calling (937) 394-2011
or sending e-mail to kremert@anna.k12.oh.us. You can direct questions to our national
office by calling (800) 772-0939, ext. 4367, or sending e-mail to naae@teamaged.org. I'll see you in Orlando!
Sincerely,
Thomas A. Kremer
1998-99 NAAE President
