NAAE/FFA PALS Greenhouse Enhancement Grant Program
Proposal Deadline September 30, 2008
The National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) is excited to announce it is now accepting proposals from agricultural educators seeking to implement a greenhouse project into their Partners in Active Learning Support (PALS) program as a part of that program’s educational outreach to elementary school students. This opportunity is open to all agricultural education programs with an active PALS program as part of their FFA chapter.
In 2008, three $7,000 competitive grants will be awarded by the NAAE. Qualified applicants will be those agricultural education programs that meet the following criteria:
- have an active PALS program as part of their FFA chapter;
- provide proof of support from their administration;
- commit to using appropriate lesson plans with their students as a part of constructing the greenhouse;
- commit to a sustainability plan for the greenhouse; and
- agriculture teacher/FFA advisor is a member of NAAE.
This grant opportunity, made possible through funding from Campbell Soup Company, will be an invaluable outreach and educational opportunity. In addition, Campbell Soup Company will be involved for a national promotional and marketing campaign. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2008.

Mini-Grant: Final Call for Applications
Proposal Deadline May 1, 2008
Approximately 250, $300.00 Awards are available for the spring of 2008 to support your Safe Tractor and Machinery Operation Program. Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis and recipients notified via e-mail. Applications must be received by the May 1, 2008 deadline to be considered for funding. The application success rate is 96.4% with 250 awards presently available for distribution. This will be the last opportunity to receive funding under this USDA grant.

Youth Safe Tractor and Machinery Operation Mini-Grant
Do you conduct an annual training program for 14 and 15 year olds
who wish to work for hire in agriculture operations operating tractors
and machinery?
Do you currently teach a safe tractor and machinery operation program?
Do you certify participants with a written, skills and driving exam?
Do you issue the USDOL WH-5 Certificate of Training those who pass
all exams?
I plan to start a new Safe Tractor and Machinery Operation Program
in 2008 to meet the USDOL Regulations for youth farm workers.
If you can answer yes to any of these questions then you may be eligible
for a $300.00 grant to purchase supplies and materials to support
your efforts.

This grant is designed to promote and strengthen teaching programs
in agriscience and agribusiness by enhancing curricula, increasing
faculty teaching competencies, promoting higher education to prepare
students for scientific and professional careers, incorporating agriscience
or agribusiness subject matter into other instructional programs,
facilitating joint initiatives among other educational institutions,
and by responding to identified state, regional, national or international
educational needs.

American Nursery & Landscape Association

" Enhancing Nursery and Landscape Instruction"
Proposal Deadline September 15, 2007
The objective of this grant program is to build outstanding
instructional programs that prepare students to enter nursery and
landscape related careers and/or higher education in areas related
to nursery/landscape.
NAAE will accept NAAE/ANLA Enhancing Nursery and Landscape Instruction Grant proposals from teachers/instructors at any secondary school and two-year postsecondary institution who are active members or active life members of NAAE.
