Following is the section of the NAAE Bylaws regarding amendments to the bylaws of the organization:

Article VIII AMENDMENTS

Sec. 1. The bylaws may be amended by a 2/3 vote of delegates present and voting at the annual meeting, providing the following provisions are met.

(a)     Proposed amendments must be adopted by at least one Region or recommended by the Board of Directors.

(b)     Proposed amendments must be sent to the Executive Director at least 90 days prior to the annual meeting.

(c)     Affiliated state associations shall be notified of proposed amendments at least 60 days prior to the annual meeting by the Executive Director.

Accordingly, this will serve as notification that one proposal to amend the NAAE Bylaws, text attached herein with proposed changes highlighted, underlined and/or stricken, will be presented at the 2011 NAAE Convention in St. Louis.

This bylaws amendment is intended to revise the process for setting NAAE membership dues.  Rationale and discussion of this proposed bylaws amendment is included in the March 2011 Policy and Bylaws Committee report available here. This proposed amendment was approved by the full Policy and Bylaws Committee and accepted by the delegates at the 2010 NAAE Convention in Las Vegas.  This action, if approved by the delegates at the 2011 NAAE Convention in St. Louis, will make the bylaws amendment official.  This bylaws amendment proposal is also posted on the NAAE website at http://www.naae.org/convention/bylaws.pdf.
