The National Teach Ag Campaign is an initiative to bring attention to the career of agricultural education, get students thinking about a possible career in agricultural education, and support current agriculture teachers in their careers.

Get ready for the 2016 National Teach Ag Day celebration on September 22nd! There are so many ways to participate!

Biofuels 101
Join us before the live webcast for an interactive live learning session about biofuels. Biofuels 101 will stream live on Thursday, September 22nd from 11:00-11:45am EDT. You will have the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the biofuels industry, as well as engage with industry professionals.

Recognize YOUR Teach Ag Champion!
Each year, the National Teach Ag Campaign selects a group of individuals to recognize as Teach Ag Champions. These individuals go above and beyond to bring attention to and promote the career of ag education, while also celebrating the positive impact ag teachers make each day in their programs, students' lives, and communities.

This year we want YOU to help us recognize YOUR Teach Ag Champions! From supportive spouses to extension agents and local famers, there are so many individuals who truly are essential to making our ag programs provide students with the best possible education.

To honor your own Teach Ag Champion, send us pictures or a 10 second video! Make sure to include the following:

  • Name(s) and state(s) of your featured champion(s)
  • Your name, school and state

As a future ag teacher, YOU are the reason for National Teach Ag Day! We want to showcase you during our LIVE webcast.

Collegiate Contest
One of the first things someone needs in order to teach agriculture is a degree in agricultural education.

The National Teach Ag Day Collegiate Commercial Contest provides college students the opportunity to promote their respective college or university and agricultural education program through a 20-30 second commercial.

National Teach Ag Day is a great opportunity to share with others your love for ag education and passion for teaching! Here are some ideas for hosting your own party:

  • Gather your friends, colleagues, peers, advisors, & anyone else you can think of to share in the National Teach Ag Day celebration!
  • Nominate someone you think will be a great ag teacher! 
  • Order in lunch & watch the National Teach Ag Day live webcast!
  • Purchase a Teach Ag kit for yourself or someone you know who will be a great ag teacher!!

These future educators are charged with the responsibility of promoting the mission and goals of the Teach Ag Campaign, while also recruiting future agricultural education majors. Not only does it include our great strides in addressing the national agriculture teacher shortage over the course of the year, but it is also a calendar of all the important dates you need to know in the agricultural education world for 2016! Welcome Tabitha Hudspeth, 2016-17 Teach Ag Intern!

Tabitha, a sophomore majoring in agricultural education at Arkansas Tech University, will be joining the Teach Ag team this summer in Lexington, KY.

Tabitha will spend eight weeks at the NAAE office, where she will manage social media and work directly with the Teach Ag team on a variety of projects.
