Health & Safety

Updated November 17, 2021

We know there are a lot of questions about the NAAE Convention schedule and safety protocols. There is nothing more important to NAAE than ensuring you have a positive and safe experience while in New Orleans. NAAE has been working closely with the City of New Orleans, the New Orleans Hilton Riverside, NAAE legal counsel and our colleagues at ACTE as we monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting safety protocols. Even though the precautions and protocols are subject to change we want to provide you with an update so you can begin to prepare for the best possible New Orleans and NAAE Convention experience. The health and safety protocols in place are being mandated by the city and hotel not ACTE or NAAE. Please be sure to check this webpage frequently and the City of New Orleans COVID Safety Plan website for updates to the protocols and mandates.

Indoor mask mandate no longer in effect in the city of New Orleans.

At this time, you will NOT be required to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test (within 72 hours) to attend the 2021 NAAE Convention or ACTE Vision 2021. We will continue to monitor the safety protocols and if the City of New Orleans releases any further restrictions, we will let you know as soon as we know. The NAAE Convention will be held in the Hilton Riverside. At this point, you do not have to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test (within 72 hours) to check into the hotel. However all restaurants, bars, and the hotel fitness center will require that you show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test (within 72 hours) and a government issued identification (valid Drivers License) to enter.

Guests can get to-go food and drinks from most New Orleans dining establishments without showing proof of vaccination or negative test, and can enjoy in-room or off-site. Grab N' Go type venues do not require proof of vaccination or negative test.

It is important to know that some NAAE and ACTE convention special events (receptions and networking events) may require a participant to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test (within 72 hours) to participate or attend. All events that have this type of requirement will be clearly communicated on the schedule or registration site and are completely optional.
