The NAAE Virtual Book Club is a fun way for agricultural educators to personalize their professional development. NAAE members can participate in the Virtual Book Club and earn professional development credit or CEU's.
The NAAE Virtual Book Club seeks to develop agricultural educators in the following ways:
2022 participants will read The Legacy of the New Farmers of America, by Dr. Antoine J Alston & Dr. Dexter B Wakefield. You can purchase the book from Barnes and Nobles, Amazon, or Target.
Participants will be required to read the book and engage in the NAAE Virtual Book Club assignments, participate in small discussion group conference calls and/or discussion threads. Professional development credit will be awarded at the end of the last scheduled virtual event. This year up to 12 hours of professional development credit will be awarded. We welcome all interested participants, however only Active NAAE Members and Student Members are eligible to receive professional development credit. If you are unsure about your membership status, please contact Ashley Hood.
Registration will be open May 1 - June 8, however, the book club is self-paced and you can sign up at any point this summer to complete assignments for credit. We do recommend having your book and registering by June 8 in order to receive the full benefit of participation and engagement with the community. You may still register past June 8, but please notify Robin McLean if you register past that date so she can get you caught up.
