Wm. Jay Jackman, Ph.D, CAE
Since March 1996, Dr. Wm. Jay Jackman has been executive director of the NAAE. Jackman earned a B.S. in agriculture from Western Kentucky University in 1983, M.S. in agricultural education from the University of Kentucky in 1984, and Ph.D. in educational research and evaluation from Virginia Tech in 1991. He also earned, and maintains, the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society for Association Executives.
Prior to his employment at NAAE, Jackman was a grant programs manager for the USDA Office of Higher Education Programs, a research associate at the Virginia Tech College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and director of student relations at the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. Jackman is also an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Community and Leadership Development within the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
Jackman is a native Kentuckian having been reared on the Jackman family farm near Glasgow. He resides in Georgetown, Kentucky with his wife, Sharon, a retired school district administrator, two Labrador Retrievers, and a Boykin Spaniel. Outside of work and family, Jackman enjoys fishing, especially fly fishing, and fly tying.
