Meeting Planner/Program Assistant
Sarah began as the NAAE Meeting Planner/Program Assistant in May of 2019. Her main duty is to coordinate any event planning for NAAE programs such as NAAE Convention, National Policy Seminar, NATAA and other meetings. She also assists with the NAAE Virtual Book Club, NAAE Awards, and booking travel for staff, award winners and the Board of Directors. A proud native Kentuckian, Sarah is a two-time University of Kentucky graduate where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education in 2017 and her Master’s in Community and Leadership Development in 2019.
Sarah is a certified agriculture teacher and is certified in the CASE Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources course. She completed her student teaching semester at the Kentucky School for the Deaf, sparking a passion for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in Agricultural Education. Her Master’s thesis research is titled: “DeaFFA: An Exploration of Agricultural Education in Schools for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing,” a case study examining the establishment of agriculture programs in schools for D/HH students. Sarah is a lifelong learner who enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, reading good books and exploring new places.
