Greece Agriculture & Cultural Tour

NAAE is proud to partner with Explorations by Thor to offer an unforgettable professional development experience for NAAE members. This nine-day guided tour will take participants from the city of Thessaloniki through the scenic Pindus Mountains, down to the historic heart of Athens, highlighting Greece’s diverse agricultural practices, sustainability efforts, and deep cultural roots along the way.

This immersive experience is designed to inspire, educate, and connect agricultural educators through meaningful cultural exchange and high-quality technical visits. NAAE members will have the opportunity to earn 60 hours of professional development credit.

Yes! Friends, family members, partners, parents, siblings, and friends are all welcome to join. We know many educators feel more comfortable traveling with a companion, and we fully support that. You’re encouraged to share this experience with your favorite travel buddy!

As this opportunity is coordinated through a private company, we do not have internal schola rships available currently. However, we encourage you to explore external support through organizations such as local County Farm Bureaus, local businesses, cooperatives, or state ag ed associations, as they may have funding opportunities or professional development grants available.

Yes. A formal letter can be provided to help secure administrative support. These letters typically note that the experience is aligned with national standards for agricultural education and has been reviewed or supported by NAAE. If your state or school requires additional documentation, we are happy to assist. Please contact Ashley Rogers for a formal letter of support.

This may vary depending on your state or district requirements. Many participants are able to count this experience toward professional development hours, especially when paired with a reflection or implementation component. This professional development will offer 60 Professional Development Credit Hours.

As part of the program, participants will complete a Reflective Photo Journal Activity that captures key takeaways, insights, and experiences throughout the trip. This can be turned in to help fulfill professional development credit requirements and may also be used as a presentation resource to share your experience at district events, staff meetings, or professional conferences as part of a workshop, etc.

We will provide your professional development certificate through your MyNAAE account. This certificate can be accessed at any time and printed directly from your account.

The experience blends agricultural education, cultural immersion, and educator wellness. You can expect farm tours, educational site visits, group discussions, and time for cultural exploration and self - care. A full itinerary can be found in the registration link.
